What should I bring to my appointment?
A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID and your unsigned document. Please don't sign it ahead of time — it needs to be signed in front of me.
What forms of ID are accepted?
Most commonly a driver's license, state ID card, or passport. If you're not sure yours qualifies, reach out before your appointment and we can confirm together.
Answers to common questions, plus a few notes to help your appointment go smoothly.
How much does notarization cost?
California law sets the notarial fee at $15 per signature (increasing to $20 per signature starting January 1, 2027, per state law). If travel is required, a separate travel fee applies — this will be confirmed with you before your appointment is scheduled.
Can you help me decide which document I need, or what it means?
As a notary, I'm not able to provide legal advice or help choose the right document for your situation — my role is verifying your identity and witnessing your signature. For guidance on which document fits your needs, an attorney is the best resource.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Reach out through the Contact page by phone or email, and I'll follow up to confirm the details and get you on the calendar.
What areas do you serve?
The greater Sacramento region and surrounding areas. Will also travel to the Bay Area.
Do you offer apostille services?
Yes, I offer apostille preparation and courier processing through the California Secretary of State's Sacramento office. Reach out for details and current pricing.
Can you notarize a document if another signer isn't present?
No; California law requires every signer to personally appear before the notary. If multiple people need to sign, we can help coordinate a time that works for everyone or set up separate appointments.
What types of documents can you notarize?
A wide range: from a quick acknowledgment to something more involved, like a power of attorney or an estate planning document. If you're not sure whether yours qualifies, just ask.
Do you travel to me for appointments?
Yes, I can meet you at a location that works for you, or we can arrange another meeting option. A travel fee applies when I come to you, confirmed before scheduling.
